Bitvavo is on a mission to make digital assets accessible to everyone. This means creating an easy-to-use platform, with transparent trading fees and a wide range of assets. 

Bitvavo was founded in 2018 and are now a team of more than 250 employees from 33 nationalities. They expect to have over 300 fte's by the end of 2024, and will keep growing to achieve their ambitious mission.  

VP People and Places

In this role you will lead their amazing People and Places team. The current team is 15+ fte, covering People Operations, Talent Acquisition, Business Partnering and Office Management.

It will be your role to ensure this team is set up to enable the business to perform.

Some of your focus areas will be:

  • Develop and execute the People Strategy

  • Advise on Organisational Design

  • Introduce L&D programs to future-proof employees

  • Continuously improving the Culture (and improving the eNPS)

  • Change Management

  • Creating manager buy-in for people processes

  • Provide the C-level team with strategic advice

There are a number of great initiatives and processes built by the people team, now they are looking for someone to bring these all together in a cohesive plan and way of working. Your leadership will bring more visibility to the team and ensure the initiatives succeed.

About you

We are looking for someone unique. Having scaled in a tech-environment in a similar role is a key requirement. Below is what we look for in addition:

You are an experienced leader. You have 10+ years or experience in HR. You’ve lead a large People & Culture team before, of multiple disciplines, including TA / L&D and People Ops. You’ve managed managers, and know how to hire the best talent for your team and for the organization.

Your stakeholder management skills are excellent. You know how to align management teams, and how to influence for progress. Your strong communication skills ensure can you bring everyone along on the journey.

You are strategic and hands-on. You can translate our business strategy and current people challenges into a progressive People Strategy. You subsequently execute this strategy, with your team, in a pragmatic and hands-on way.

You have scaled before. You enjoy the challenge and the journey that comes with scaling. You’ve been there, loved it, and want to do it all over again. You know what it takes to successfully go from 250 to 500 and you know what this phase requires.

You’ve worked in the Netherlands. We are open to relocating for this role and to a non-Dutch speaker, but we do need someone who understands the Dutch landscape, the culture, and the legalities.
